Default transfer case drop?

I just installed a 2" lift and I know I need to drop the tcase. (i can feel the vibration)
my question is if i understand it correctly all you do is drop the cross member 1 " and add longer 10 MM bolts.???correct?
after looking at it during lunch two of the bolts are threaded into the rails and the other two have studs coming out of the rails with nuts on them. how do I add longer bolts if they are threaded studs?

On a side note I wanted to say thank you to everyone for the help! this forum is awesome and a lifesaver. thanks again

1st, lot's of PB Blaster on the studs, every day for a few days. You should be able to remove the studs with Vice-grips and replace with bolts. It's important not to break a stud like I did!

For the studs you can take two nuts and tighten them down on each other on the stud. Make sure they are good and tight. Then use the top nut to unscrew the stud. I'm doing that next week.

2 nuts worked great for me. It's definitely better to try and do it that way... as the stud will still be useable if for some reason you get stuck. With vice-grips, if you can't get it out, you're pretty much going to trash the stud in the process.

You need to drop the tcase at 2" of lift? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of that lift? Did you use shackles? If so I would use degree plates and get the pinion angle set up correctly. That will cure vibration long as your ujoints are good.

the t case drop I found at the junk yard last year had a bolt extender on it... it screwed into your existing studs and had studs coming out of it...

I threw those out... lol

also as for needing a t case drop at 2" of lift... try driving it around for a little while see if the vibes go away...

also you might try new u joints... the joints 'get used' to being in the position they have always been in... then they act weird when they are in a new position

25-100 miles later they are good to go... or they are shot... lol
