Yeah, you need a track bar. Whoever told you that may have been talking about the sway bar. Anyway, that's just about the height that your chassis will be offset from your axle if you don't use an adjustable track bar. PM me if you need one- I just parted out an XJ with a 5" and I'll sell you this one to get it out of my garage. Rubicon Express I think.

For street and light wheeling applications, the stock bar will be fine. Done many of them. If you take your off road serious, an adjustable is manditory.
Oh ok thank u that's what I was thinking and yes more hardcore wheeling is in the future and thank u very much on the offer i would take u up on that but I'm slightly broke haha spent my jeep money on the lift :/

Anything over 3" lift a trackbar should be a replaced with an adjustable one espically if you go offroad. for 4.5" lift your going to want a Double Shear Trackbar

And get a quality tack bar the first time... Don't go for like a Rusty's or Rough Country. You'll end up spending the money on a good one 3 months after it blows up anyway. Bite the bullet now.
Awesome
I found some jks tracbars I think I'll be buying I figure this build will be a bit o this bit o that Franken build and I'm really not brand loyal and i don't like having to replace parts that would still b thought of as "new" um for future thought who would be good to go through for a long arm upgrade?
