No, it's not worth it.

What's wrong with what you have now?

well i know they make popping noises, but mine seems to make it more then normal. ive opened the diff up a few times and there is always little pieces of metal. the ring and pinion are fine so im guessing they r coming from the lunch box.

Sounds like the lunchbox isn't set up right. If it's chipping it won't last long. If you go from a locker to a LSD you're going to hate it.

My d35 came from the factory with an LSD. Is really nice and smooth for a dd. If you do any sort of rock crawling or hard wheeling its kinda useless. For mild trails and and some rocks it will be fine with a front locker but an open front and LSD rear won't do the job on the hard stuff. That is the experience I have had with it, hope it helps.

The springs are probably weak or broke in the locker. It may just need new springs.

Any idea what brand it is? Lockrights are known for springs wearing out and those along with Aussies need the proper size thrust washers or else they will be too loose and could cause chipping. Also lunchbox lockers are known for unloading from time to time and making a loud pop. Nothing to be concerned about.
