TOTM intake modifications
Any love for the Airaid filter kit? I love mine--it's sorta like a K&N, but retains the bottom of the stock air box, but replaces the lid with a sheet-metal air dam that seals to the hood but is open in front. That way you get the full ram effect of air coming around the radiator, but the box acts as a splash guard for water coming from below. I got maybe a 1.5 MPG improvement, and much better acceleration above 75mph (with my 225/75r15 tires). I can keep up with the big boys on the interstate now, even fully loaded with people and gear.

Well there you go. I paid $160. I just checked, and now it's $190:

Still pricey, but it sure does work well.

are you sure? Cause 3" ID has 2.25x more interior area than 2" ID
ram air provides effectively nothing for a normal size scoop under 200 MPH. Your 2" hose will still be WAY undersized, unless of course you plan to make a scoop that is the entire frontal area of your jeep and still drive fast.

Anyone here have a bored out throttle body? I have a Renix motor so there are not a lot of performace options available. I got my throttle body from www.strokedjeep.com and it definitely gave me a little increase in power. I plan to do a cowl intake soon.

i had the airraid kit before my snorkle. (was there when i perchased jeep.)
It works well but the splash guard effect is the bad part... it retained water in the box and that water would splash onto the filter constantly.
Im looking for a bigger throttlebody since i have a fully ported head and a cammed out 4.7 but i just got the bill for my race engine and its $3,100!!!!
but that engine will be worth it. all forged too.
