Hey Gorillaxj, thanks for posting the link to my thread. I didn't know how to do that but have figured it out now. Another poster asked about performance increases for cold air (fresh air) intakes. I'm going to check gas mileage and will post it, but that will be awhile. The reason I did the fresh air intake was because of how hot it gets under the hood when crawling; it looks good too
. I don't do the really deep water (mud) thing, but my air intake has been raised 10 - 11 inches.

Forgot to ask this before, this pertains to the the guys that ditch the stock air box and don't get a cai. How do you still retain the proper function of the pcv and suck on the valve cover without them connecting to the air box?

you would have to get a small filter for the CCV inlet. There's no way around connecting the charcoal canister tube to the intake

o reillys sells vaccum connects for like 7 dollars. they go on the end of the the line, and a connector that goes into the tube. get a piece of 3" thin pvc and and use it, connect it to the rubber tube and put the filter on the pvc. the kit comes with hole saws made to cut the correct size holes so just cut the hole and put the grommit in. look at my cai to see what im talking about. Very easy and cheap as hell.

my cowl snorkel

its a piece of high pressure hose pipe. just cut a hole in the air box for a tight fit. silicone it, then cut a hole in the cowl.
