Too Tall??
I'm at 6.5" short arm w/. 35's and have a roof rack with full size spare in it and it is more stable on the trails and the highway than my buddies tj with 4" lift and 33's, I do have a wide backspace though. Ive taken my xj through places no jeep should go and have yet to regret my lift height in fact there have been a few places that I wouldn't have made it through with out that much lift. I believe it is all personal opinion, obviously with the amount of lift I have and mechanical lockers f/r I don't go around driving it like sports car. Justy $.02 and I'm sure alot of people will disagree with me but that is my experience

Not a very good example, you could have another foot of lift and your center of gravity still wouldnt pass over where the tire makes contact with the ground. But of course, the taller you are, the more unstable you are, and the sketchier that would be.

I got 6.5 with 2 spacers it needs wheel spacers. I mainly hit MUD. hence y my jeep is called mud digger. but I do a bit of off camber and crawling here and there and even with my "short arms" I can run with my buddys jeep who has a 4.5 long arm 37$. a lot of it is in the skinny pedal though.
if at first you can break it. take it off and add some welds it wont do that again "in that spot"

the XJ has a long arm.
31's on a samurai is common, they come with 26's stock,
AND I was obviously joking about the spring compressors.
I just wanted some opinions on this setup, yes I would rather have 4.5in lift and cut the fenders but the rig is already lifted with many
other goodies so its a good deal.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Tom95yj,
Please tell me you're joking, I have gimme through far worse off camber and angled areas. That picture is a poor example if you manage to tip any rig on that section you probably shouldn't be wheeling. Not trying to be rude but that is a joke there are many local trails that have far more off camber sections than that locally here in Vegas to the point of wranglers hooking up straps to prevent tipping and I managed to drive through them without issue. Maybe I'm just more comfortable behind the wheel offroad than them or maybe it's the fact that my rig is not a rig that is going to tip if you sneeze next to it

Hey. I've built my biggest one so far. 9.5" lift 3 Link Long Arm on 36" Iroks and IF you're smart with any size lift, you can still do quite a bit. as tall as I am, been wheeling cherokees for 12 years now, i can still climb and play on some pretty steep stuff with those long arm flexability so trust me, 6.5 on 34s is great. I would suggest widest tire you could put up with, and a 1.25" wheel adapter to really widen you stance. THAT makes HUGE difference, specially at my height. Hope this helps.
My stance doesn't seem very wide which is good for keeping the cops away. My tires say 10.5 but measure just as wide as a 12.5.
After having a samurai it seems really stable but I have yet to get it on a difficult trail yet.
