Hey all,
Im needing some advice on tires. Im currently on 2nd set of MTRs these are 35x12.50, the previous were 32x11.50. Ive had 33x12.50 nittos,30x9.5 bfg and two sets of 31x10.50 duratracs.
I would love duratracs again and I wouldnt mind the k02s.
The issue that I am wrestling is the fact that these 35x12.50" tires grab EVERYTHING in the road and when the road is grooved and worn down, these tires make the jeep a bear to drive. I dont recall the nitto grapplers being this difficult. The second kicker is I really want to step down to a 33x10.50ish size, save some weight and keep a large enough tire for wheeling. A duratrac 33x1050 would be ideal, but they dont make that size in 15", then ide need new metric wheels for a size similar.
The bfg isnt a full sized 33, which kinda stinks because ive moded the jeep for 35s. The duras make a full size 33 but its a 12.50 chubbybumpkin tire.
Can anyone say whether they have experienced better on road handling with a 33x10.50 vs the 12.50" contact patch? Is the MTR known for grabbing every bit of road possible?
Im pretty set on one of these tires. I want good snow performance and better road manners based on tire size, then im considering cost.
Thank you for any ideas

I've read some folks have good success with the same tire sizes and I've read loads of folks saying the tramlinig effect quite a lot, just because of the tire size.
Does anyone have similar mtr tire experience?
