Default tick felt in shifter increases with speed

Hello, I have a 93 4 door, 4.0, 5-speed, NP231, lifted 5.5" on 35"x12.5". The PO also did an OTK steering upgrade with heims.

With the shifter in gear and the Jeep rolling, I can feel a steady clicking coming up through the stick. It is steady, and increases with speed. My spidey senses tell me it has something to do with the front driveshaft. Maybe it is out of balance, or maybe the problem is where it connects either to the front axle or at the transfer case. Anyone have experience with this issue?

Thanks!

Check both driveshafts......either one will cause you to feel it in the shifter

Do you also feel it with the t-case shifter ? it is worse or not ?

Nice looking jeep BTW....

Thanks TRCM!

As an update, I looked closer and can see that both the front pinion seal is leaking, and so is the output shaft seal at the T-case for the front. I am guessing that the front driveshaft is vibrating and causing the tick. Also, the output shaft on the back of the T-case is also showing signs of a leak for the rear driveshaft. It has the slip yoke still - for now. I need to price out a SYE.

I am thinking that the 2" thick T-case spacer on the cross member helped the driveline angles after the 5.5" lift, but perhaps not enough. It also appears that the drive shafts are the stock ones. I know a guy that builds drive shafts so I may have new ones made eventually. What else can I do to keep from going through seals all the time? The 35's are going to be hard on the Dana 30 and 35 I guess. 4.88 gears or not.

I will getting my hands dirty this weekend for sure.

Also, I forgot to mention, but check to see if it changes in 4wd or 2wd on either shifter
