Default throttle body

I had the machine shop take the bottlekneck out of a throttle body. While the iac and tps sensor where out, I cleaned them. When I installed the sensors, I checked the functionality of the tps and all was good. I just installed the throttle body and my idle went straight to 2000 and stayed there. I pulled it out and put the stock throttle body back on and idle went back to normal. What could be causing the high idle with the throttle body I had machined? And is there another way to rest the pcm without disconnecting the battery? Yes, I could disconnect the battery, but the state will charge me a fine if I do, because I have an interlock device installed. Gotta love dui's

I just bored out my throttle body myself at the machine shop where I work at. I have no idling problem. I used same original butterfly too.

I didn't reset my PCM either.

Either something wrong with your sensors or the gasket the throttle body is sitting on. Maybe the gasket where the idle air housing is bolted on the throttle body too.

If you take the throttle body off and put a flashlight under it, does the light shine through the sides of the throttle plate? Gotta make sure it fits good against the walls.

actually I have four throttle bodies that has original plates in it and they all have light coming through around.

It doesn't affect my idle.

How much light though? It can't be excessive. Is the bored out one more than the stock one?

I only bored out the bottle neck on one of the throttle body. Using same bitterfly plate, it seems like there's .030 gap around. And I measured three stock throttle bodies, they have the same gap. It's harder to tell because the bottleneck block out the light. I used feeler gauges.

Of course if u bored all the way from top to bottom, u would need to make a new butterfly plate.
