Default Thought Of A Way To Get More Headroom?

OK, so my driver's seat is broken.

I've been planning on just replacing it, but most of the used seats I've been able to find are 97+, and don't quite match. I've also read how many XJ seats have broken frames, and I've been wondering if I might find myself with the same problem with new/used seats, so I've been thinking of pulling my seat apart and seeing what the problem is before I try other seats.

I found this video on youtube. It's pretty informative, and it sparked an idea,

I'm 6'5", and have been trying to find a way (or ways) to increase the headroom in my Jeep.

As I watched that video, I couldn't help but notice the square frame suspended by the springs inside the actual seat frame.

Obviously, that frame supports the bottom of the seat, and the springs control how far you sink in to it.

If you replaced those springs with longer, or weaker springs, wouldn't that allow the driver to sink further into the seat, and increase headroom?

I see the spring thing as an addition to cutting the brackets.

Is the XJ driven daily or a trail rig? You can remove the headliner for about a 2 in gain but it will heat up faster in the summer & be cooler in the winter.

It's a daily driver.

More importantly, I'm looking to sit lower in the vehicle, not raise the roof.
