I am thinking about changing the tube work on my bumper. Cutting off the end bars and cutting down the main hoop by 2" then welding up some new ends that come in flush with the top of the main tube . Or cutting off the ends. Lowering the main tube by 2" then adding a few plate gussets. See pics to get a better idea I'm really digging the plate gusset idea What are your thoughts ?
Yes the bumper is a little wide cause my original plan was to add a exocage

Not a option anymore. My YJ is more of the dedicated wheeler now. The XJ develops new creaks every time I wheel now. And the roof dented last time I took it out. I'm pretty sure the body is tweaked. I'll probably sell it in a couple years to fund a down payment on s tow rig
