Hello all! I bought my first Cherokee for 500 bucks and it has no rust but has a bad motor, no big deal though because I plan on doing the TDI conversion, I just need to wait until I get back to the states this may to start my conversion, I'm going to purchase everything for the swap all the together as soon as I find a proper donor car.

the reason for wanting to do this swap is
1. to see if I can actually do it and also learn fab and electrical
2. I want to daily a Cherokee but don't want to get 15 mpg
3. same hp/tq but 25/32 mpg is what's up!


I plan on doing minimal lift and keeping the tires at or below 33's. this will be my every day driver and my camping mobile.
ill be buying a donor Jetta and attempting to buy another Cherokee that already has a 5 speed manual in it, in my area they can be had for 500 so that shouldn't be a problem.
I don't care if it costs little more than 6k to do the entire swap, id rather spend 6/8k building the car I want to drive that gas amazing mpg and can go off-road than spend 10k on a gas saver that's good for nothing haha

Iv watched the Video, but it just left me with more questions than answer, so I’ll leave a full budget of everything that I do as I go along. The goal is to keep everything as stock as possible as far as appearance.
