I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I already have the wiring for the taurus fan figured out. The mech fan is out, so is the pulley. The new belt has also been re-routed. All of that was easy. However, the actual fit of the fan is in question. I'm ok from left to right aswell as up and down. I'm just stuck on how the fan can fit between the radiator and engine....? Any help is appreciated
I'm getting ready to do this as well, have 2 fans from a newer Merc Sable, and was gonna build a mount out of square stock and such... seen this? http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoTaurusFanInstall1.htm

I see that he ended up removing quite a bit of the mech fan pulley bracket... that makes sense. Otherwise the electric taurus fan would hit that pulley bracket. Thats where my only problem was. ...I wonder how hard it will be to cut that bracket. ..? Either way, thanks

After traveling 1200 miles across the Southern NM and Arizona Desert in the 110 degree heat - the Taurus fan proved itself. Well it got me to Cali but fortunately for me I made it to my destination before the Fan bearings decided to crap out. Anyhow:
I know yall PM'd me a week ago but I've been in the process of moving - Military style so forgive my tardiness.
The best way to fit that fan is by a lot of trial and error, removing the clutch fan and cutting the shaft it goes on, a lot of plastic trimming, zip ties, and mostly - patience on getting it right. If you're good enough, you could also squeeze a Tranny/Oil cooler in with that fan and keep the original Elecgtric fan installed. But it takes some creativity. Make sure you keep the fan shroud as close to the radiator as possible. Mine actually butts right up on the radiator. When I get settled in my new place I am going to build a custom fan shroud with 2 taurus fans for maximum cooling of the engine, tranny, and oil. I will post that one up soon! Oh and when you are done with the install, the fan motor actually is about 1/4 inch from the engine - talk about cutting it close!
