SYE specifics
Hi, I am new to the forum and am hoping this is the right place to ask this question. I am looking to buy an advance adapter sye from a private seller online and want to make sure I am getting the right one. I have a 2000 Cherokee with the 8.25 rear axle and I believe the 31 spline t case. Are there any specifics with the advance adapter sye in order to install it that I need to be aware of before buying it? Thanks

If its from HarleyS here on this forum, I bought one from him too, great guy.
You need the right SYE for your transfercase. If it is a NP231 you are good to go.
Unless you go custom, finding the right driveshaft is a little tricky. I have an 1989 cherokee, automatic tranny, 8.25 axle and I needed a 31" when compressed front driveshaft off a grand cherokee.
You need an awesome set of snap ring pliers....autozone/Orielys ones will not do, they are too weak. I ended up having to use a set of funky pliers to get the snap rings off, not easy!!!

Most people get a front d/s from another cherokee to use as a rear after doing a sye because the original is slip yoke and after installing sye it has to bolt on. The difficulty is finding the right length one you need, every lift is a little different so its not so cut and dry.
