Default Sye question

I see SYE's advertised in the mags, but never see the new drive shaft your supposed to run with it, you would think the company's would offer one to go along with their kit, how am i supposed to know what to get, as well as where to go to get it ?? What other info do i need and is there another jeep part you could supplement for a C.V. drive shaft?? Im looking at poss going to a 5.5 iron rock or rubicon longarm kit in , what else do i need that doesnt come with a kit as far as driveline?????

I wondered all the same things before I lifted my Jeep. Here's the only site, you'll need going forward for this, trust me. Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts. Matter of fact, when I called the number on the site with further inquiries, Mr. Tom Wood himself answered my call and provided answers. That's service!

Here's the link:

http://www.4xshaft.com/

Anyhow, just click on the left side of the page, on the "XJ Cherokee" button. From there, you'll get some great info on measuring, ordering, etc. There's a link below the line drawing about exploring SYE options, upon clicking that you'll get a similar looking page, but with a larger "more detailed information" link, click it. You should now have everything needed to help decide, order, etc.

Upon receiving my SYE and driveshaft, I was simply amazed at how well engineered the shaft itself was, nicely done in my opinion. An amazing product, with top notch customer service.

Good luck, hope it helps you down the necessary path, and I hope that path is muddy!

This is exactly what you're looking for, and this is all you'll ever need

I have a lot of...personal...experience with my driveshaft (including blowing up the rear axle, imploding the transfer case, and ripping the yoke straps in 2 and dragging it down the road at 50 mph in FWD) AND IT STILL GOES STRONG...i havent even balanced it after all this happens, and still no vibes...Tom Wood's Driveshafts are the way to go, they'll last longer than anything you put them under

For the most part.. you can use a front shaft in the rear. NO need to spend money on a new shaft.

a front XJ shaft will work fine, unless you have a 5 speed, or a d35...

you may have luck finding a front driveshaft out of a ZJ, durango, maybe even a TJ(ALOT longer)
