So I have a 00 sport on 255 16s. I have a rc 3'' with aal. My question is if I should worry about installing a sye. I had a 95 on 6'' that had a bad tcase leak so im leary about lifting in the first place. I figured his needed a tcasedrop or sye.
Also, ive heard that the springs suck an to go with bilsteins. . .any advice on these as far as the leafs an shackles? This is the first lift im going to install and want to do it right after the 95 woes.
Thanks in advance.

SYE 4.5" lift and up or at least shims and tcase drop. it's super easy to install dont let it scare you. Rubicon express makes decent leaf packs. anything bigger than stock shackles will put you at 4.5" lift though
bilsteins.. eh whatever. I run them in the rear with shackle relocation. still not that great. and all white body shocks are the same. it's all preference. I'd find something in the middle

install the lift if you have vibes install an sye. if not you're OK to go with out. RC shocks are not the best... i have them i don't mind them bilsteins are supposed to be much nicer but i don't have experience with them yet. i run a RE leaf Daystar shackle and a HD offroad shackle relocation kit. that yielded 5.5" of lift instead of the 3 i expected. so i had to level the from later. RC leaves are said to be too short and give you a bad shackle angle therefor giving you a rougher ride. searching probably would've answered all your questions.

if you're afraid to do some sort of SYE, don't lift it that high. plain and simple. but people run big lifts without them all the time. tcase drop and shims and see what happens. search the forum more. research is key it sounds like you don't really know what you want

these lifts are pretty much smack dead in the middle of quality vs. price

Install the lift you already got and go from there.
I have a 97 automatic cherokee with RC 4.5 in lift, full leafs, and tc drop. I don't have a SYE, but it was recommend to get one. A lot of people ask me if I have one because they all have one on their manual cherokees with 4.5 or greater lift. I have no vibrations of any sort and had the lift for 2.5 years as a dd and no problems.
As for the rc shocks they only lasted me a few months and I recently replaced them with bilsteins 5100s and i am so much happier now.
The RC leafs I am not happy with either. I saw a pair of zone leafs springs on a cherokee and really like those. may be a future swap.
I have a lot of RC gear on my jeep because it is cheaper, but I would not recommend them. quality is not on par with that of brands like RE. Just a personal opinion. I would def have gone with RE if I could do it again.

Are manuals more likely to require a SYE for some reason?
Idk everyone that i talk to has a manual jeep in general. I have only met 5 other people with sye's though. One guy had some sort of advanced adapter instead of sye
