No shims yet. My pinion angle is pretty good ...with the short front shaft in i get very little vibes..but I wanna see where its at with my 2" shackles I'm putting in. That should actually point it even more at the tcase

5"s up front and 3.5"s in the rear. I did the sye so I could add 2"s to the back with an extended shackle to level the truck out again.

Just for reference here is a stock front xj shaft vs a front GC shaft. The GC shaft can actually be extended a little more then that too..the rubber boot was pulling it back when I let go.

And here is the stock xj shaft in my truck with 3.5" if lift as you can see its really at the end of its slider. It has about 1/2" before its fully extended. This is with full weight on the axle.. if the rear was hanging Id imagine the shaft would bottom out.

no thats the xj shaft, its smooth as silk but its just a tad to short. I dont plan on wheeling or anything like this obviously, just need to get to work and what not. I had my girlfriend who weights all of 100 lbs jump on the back of the jeep today while i watched the joint and it didnt move at all.

I think I should be good.

I kills me I have a shaft that is smooth as hell but too short and then i have the GC shaft that is perfect length but vibes like a motha. lol worst of both worlds..

guess it could be worse, i could have a shaft that vibes and is to short haha

you can, it justdepends on if you have an aw4 or ax15. atomos has posted the lenghts a lot and so have i on other threads. people should measure after a sye install to get an exact lenght needed since there are different lenght front ds out there off xjs also what a lot of people dont check at the jy is if the ds they pull is straight or bent. vibes can be caused by different things same with leaks. make sure when you install the sye a good amount of rtv black is used...

sorry for the stupid question, i just want to double check here...

If i put 2" lift extended shackles in tomorrow, will it pull the driveshaft out of its slip joint even more? or will it kinda push my axle a little forward?

really not sure what to expect here, but I want to put these damn things in.

The slip yoke really didn't change. I think I'm just going to get the shaft extended by an inch and a half to be safe. In also need probably like 4degree shims. Getting slight vibration at highway speeds but nothing to bad. Love how the truck looks now. But now I need to get bigger tires lol
