Ive been reading and learned about sye and the front shaft conversion and they say they have it don't on 6inch lifts and stuff. Well my question is I put an sye kit in from advanced adapters and pulled a front shaft out of a 94 automatic xj and it's almost maxed out length wise and I'm only running 4 inches of lift. Anyone else have this problem? Should I get the shaft lengthened?

Edit- it also would depend on your rear axle and sye you did. For instance a d35 pinion is shorter than an 8.25 pinion. A HnT might sit at a distance farther from the tcase than a new output shaft with a full sye. There's a ton of variables. What works for me isn't going to be guaranteed to work for anybody else.

I think he's talking about the rear DS. Not the front. I'm at 5.5-6 inches with a front shaft from a 4.0 auto and it fits but barely. Its stretched out to the max. It should work fine as long as your whole rear end doesn't droop too far down, but even then the pivot point on the leafs is at the front so as you droop it pulls forward a little so I don't think the distance changes too much. I do believe a front shaft out of grand Cherokees can be longer than ones from xj's if you wanted to try to source one that's a little longer for peace of mind.
