Looks like most of us w/ 2001 XJs had pretty bad vibes at 3". I installed an AA sye w/ a Tom woods DS along with my 3" RC lift. No shims beyond the 6* shims included w/ the leafs.

This is a huge help. Thank you very much. I found a set of three exactly like your picture on ebay for 15 dollars. I am going to get them. They should do the trick.

The tap I have looks like the middle one in the pic. It does not seem to have enough taper to bite into the metal good.

Well I was going to order that set of 3 taps off of ebay but I was out of town this past week for work and did not have access to internet. It was down at the place I was at.

So...I picked up a single tap made by Irwin from the local hardware store. I figured what was another $6, right? I quickly found out that not all taps are made the same. This one worked like a charm so I finally got the hole tapped. Success!

the later year xjs seem to be alittle more iffy on the vibes. if you have the cash rustys makes a cross member with a built in 1 inch drop but you dont loose any clearance like the traditional block drop.
