Default Sye 242 help guys

So hear it goes. My wife got me a 4.5" long arm lift for my bday. I was saving for the lift do when she got it for my I had some cash for the xj. So I started a thread called 4.5" and what else. Asking guys what are the other little things to get for the lift to run/perform better. So a couple of guys said get a SYE kit. So I looked into it a little and said y not I have the money they said its worth it and I got one. Now here's the problem I have the 242 transfer case. I have read the hack and tap thread but my question is really more do I need this SYE kit or do I send it back or do I need some of it. Thanks guys

The Hack-n-Tap yoke will work for both the 242 and 231 because the output shafts have the same diameter and spline count.

The SYE is specific to one or the other transfer cases. The one for the 242 is expensive and only Tom Woods makes one that I am aware of.
Which SYE do you have?

That kit will fit the 231 only. No parts from it should be used with the hack-n-tap. You will need to know if you have the short tail-cone or long. Reference pic in this link;

If you can afford it the Woods kit is really nice had a buddy install one on his. If not the "hack & Tap" is the only other choice.

This is correct. But you will be getting someone else shaft that has been cut down and re-splined. There is a $400 deposit, returned after you send him your shaft.
