hey there. im pretty new here.
i have read tons on the sye and using the front drive shaft.
my question is with the rugged ridge sye kit and a 4 to 4.5 lift work with the stock front drive shaft?
or any sye kit (not hack and tap) with a 4 to 4.5 lift work with stock front shaft?

You know... I normally would not say something about using the search function before asking a question but really???? I just posted this exact question an hour ago.... at least read the first couple pages....

To answer both of you. Yes, you can use a front drive shaft for the rear with a SYE and 4-5 inch lift.
I've been doing this for a long time. It's works great and is a lot less expensive than having a custom drive shaft made.
Word of advise. Go through the drive shaft and replace any u joints that seem either tight or have any slop in them.

I believe its the auto one is the one you want because the manual tranny is shorter so it makes the front drive shaft smaller the auto is longer so the front drive shaft will be longer
