Default Sway bar disconnect vs. fixed link

I plan to get the 4.5 zone lift. It comes with fixed links and no option for disconnect. The 3 inch zone lift did lol. My point is, with the jeep being my dd, will just unbolting the sway bar links when I want to go offroad work? Or will it damage bushings and whatnot?

You would have to remove the entire link. Wouldn't hurt anything. The discos just save time and effort.

Wait , what? Sway bar end links should only be a nut on the tip and bottom similar to this:

Ahh ok. I just used rear ford f350 links on mine when I lifted it. I'd remove the stud that runs into the sway bar and the bottom bolt. Should be fine. Carry a stiff bristle brush and some cleaner to clean muck and stuff off before you replace it.

Step 1: Go to local hardware store (Ace, tractor supply, etc)
Step 2: Buy the best fitting clevis pin, locking pin for the clevis, some washers.
Step 3: Replace the lower bolt of the link with pin and hardware.
Step 4: Disconnect pin and find a way to mount the now free link way from the axle.
Step 5: Take pictures of the flex you just obtained for less than $10.

Yeah I know about being lazy hooking them back up. One other thing to always carry a lot of is "zip ties", like for one to replace the clevis pin when you lose one.

At times I have came back with all my zip ties gone, used for one thing or another and wish I had taken more.

Haha lazy like finding the pins? I almost lost one once, took me a good ten minutes of circling around to find it. I don't see connecting mine anytime soon but I'm keeping them just in case.

Yeah ill probably get some disconnects down the road. Ive seen some type of strap and clip combo that bolts above the spring to hold the link. But yeah that pin sounds like a rascal to keep track of.

$10 vs. $80 for the same thing, it's up to you. Or ditch them for free if you have good shocks/suspension.
