swapping dana 30& 35 for dana 60's

so i been thinkin about swapping my axles to a pair of dana 60's. i know it seems over kill but i got a killer deal on them. has anybody ever done this? wondering if there is already a thread on this subject or if somebody can point me in the right direction.

It's a lot more work than just swapping them out

There are tons and tons of threads of people swapping axles. Unfortunately not a lot here. I suggest you look at pirate4x4.com and browse around.

i know i can do it. trail and error will be a factor im sure. but only way to find out is to jump right in and do it.

why do you want d60's? gonna be running a 40" tire..........

A properly built front king pin dana 60 with gears, lockers, shafts, brackets, and ctm ujoints is gonna cost you at leat 3k-4k.

not going all out on them yet. just a thought right now. picked up a freshly rebuilt 60 rear for 40 bucks. guy was needin cash fast so i figured why not. been thinkin more ford 8.8 rear and waggy 44 front with no bigger than 37's
