Default super stiff ride- are springs or shackles to blame?

Long story short, i had leafs cracking off my cherokee and i needed a new pair but tk cheap to buy lifted leafs. I found a guy locally selling 4" lifted leafs from an '88 dodge power wagon. Being that they are the right.width and almost the same offset, i could not turn them down for $40.
So i bolted them to my main and it gave.me a ton of lift. However i didnt take into account that re arching the springs that much also shortened the eye to eye length, therefore my shackles.are now at their.full extention.
This things rides stiffer than a male **** star, doesnt sag and bary moves up.
I used the lower 3 leafs off the dodge packs and just my main, im not sure if thats the prob or if its due.to my shackles being fully extended.

I may do a shackle rocate first and see what happens just cuz i dont want to pull the leafs apart again.

Do you thing that will.work? Or are these springs just too heavy?

I'd say its both your rediculous shackle angle and the power wagon leafs being too stiff.

All about spring rate. The power wagons are def meant for more weight. Chevy s-10 leafs have a pretty soft ride for a bastard pack lift.

Yeah that is a horrendous shackle angle, you might as well have two brackets and no shackle

Leafs dont work if the shackle doesnt let them move. Ive never seen a shackle like that before

I wanted s10 leafs but couldnt find any locally. I might swap out the long dodge leaf for the one that was on there, and keep to two lower dodge leafs on for the arch. I will be towing a 19ft boat with this in the spring, so i do want them to be able to support that load.
I think over the long weekend i might cut the old shackle buckets off and make some custom ones to correct the angle

Grab a set of Boomerang shackles.

I'm sure one of the many fine Vendors in the Vendor Forum can help.
