Default super duper 231?

I know about the 4:1 case halves, dodge chains and Chevy planetaries...but I'm curious, is there a way to make a 231 case 4:1 without getting the whole case half? I tried Google, maybe I wasn't searching for the right thing but everything came back with the case halves...I know a 241 or would be easier, but I haven't seen any around my yards for a good while

Look in to a dana 300 swap,It will have to have a flip kit and twin stick but its not hard to do.And a 4 to1 gear set for it is 600 bucks.

Hmm...well, a Dana 300 isn't as easy to come by but ok, let me put it to you like this- is the 231 able to have 4:1 without the front half kit? It's something I would like to have, but on the current budget, isn't feasible

*edit* the terralow is essentially a front half kit so my post was invalid.

Not that I know of/have seen man.

I personally am going to run one of the behemoth drivetrain strong boxes.

my plan is to do a doubler kit using the 231 and a 300. you get much better gear reduction, and probably cheaper than a 241 case. plus you get the benefits of the 300 twin stick... front digs

Do your research on behemoth hes known for taking 6 months or longer to ship out stuff if at all.The teralow is the only 4 to 1 kit i know of for the np231 and for the price and a sye kit you could have a dana 300.A used 300 is around 300 bucks a flip kit is about 200 bucks. The 4 to 1 kit is 600 bucks thats 1100 or less depending on what you get the dana 300 for.The teralow kit is 1200 bucks and a sye can run you 200 bucks or less.

You can check my build thread if you want to see what's involved in a Dana 300 install. I put a Klune doubler (which is basically just a machined case around a 231 planetary set with 6 planetaries) between the Dana 300 and the transmission. Installing a 231 homemade doubler with a 300 would be the same process. Doing just a 300 would shorten your drivetrain about 6 inches or so, so you would have to cut up the floor to fit it in there. (Which would actually not be too big of a deal just get some sheet metal and weld it over the new hole. I would recommend fabbing a mechanical shifter as my cable shifters don't work perfectly- it takes a lot of torque to shift those things sometimes. Also realize you are running the 300 upside down so it's tough to keep it from leaking. Mine leaks. All you need is a flip ring or clocking ring (two very different things) then you can swap the output shafts from your 231 sye to a 300 and shorten/lengthen your driveshafts after you measure. Pretty easy process in theory.
