hey guys, i know theres probably tons of threads out there on the topic but...

i am going to be buying a double sheer track bar, and also a sye.
im on a 3" lift and 31's

im wondering what the best brand is for the value... without going too expensive, and also best store/internet store to buy these parts from as far as price and service goes.

If you've got an automatic you can run the stock front shaft from another auto XJ. Once you're lifted and the SYE is in, measure between the transfer case yoke and the pinion yoke, subtract 1.5", and get one of these from a junkyard:

Code:

The A500 was later renamed the 44RE. w/o CV means there is a single-cardan joint at both ends.

okay the last part of that makes no sense to me. but let me make sure i got this clear. i have to install the sye (im already lifted) then put the stock shaft back in, then measure yoke to yoke and subtract that by 1.5" and that final number is what i need to look for on the chart above?

and also: "If you've got an automatic you can run the stock front shaft from another auto XJ" i have an automatic but what would be the point of getting the same shaft i already have from another auto xj?

No. The entire purpose of an SYE is to replace the factory rear drive shaft with a CV shaft that has a double-cardan joint and a slip section in the middle. On most automatic XJs, you can use a factory front drive shaft between your SYE and the rear axle as it's roughly the same length. On some it's not, though, and you need to source a DS from another vehicle that will fit.

Once you install your SYE you cannot put the original DS back in.

yeah i know you dont put the original back in but the wording he used made it sound like it... where do you get the measurement? and "front" was definitely missing from the original explanation

You measure between the SYE yoke and the pinion yoke of the rear axle
