I dont know when I get my driving lights of I drill/screw them into my OEM 2001 bumper or get a light bar (made by detour. Would look like the picture below but that's not my bumper). Either screw into bumper, get light bar, or get brush guard (with or without new bumper)? Suggestions would be helpful! Thanks guys!!

 

If you have the money get a bumper

 

Correction: build a bumper! This way it's how YOU want it - design, light bar/brush guard/no bar - make it however you want!

 

Problem with that is, I don't have a welder let along no how to weld... :'(

 

if you want to lift your rig, spend you money on a bumper save it for a lift. i had my lights on my front bumper when i first got them, then i found a grille guard and mounted them on that (see pics) if you have a little cash to spend just get the light bar, or get a brush guard that way it gives you a little protection aswell

 

I dont want to lift for a while cause of money and gas. Also, with a whole guard, afraid of the weight up front

 

look at my pics, u can find a guard up like the one I have, brushguards them self dont weigh that much so u dont have to worry about weight. U deff dont want a bumper then. Your best bet is to get the light bar from detours then

 

The weight is the biggest issue because I get crappy MPG and I don't want sagging in the front. And when it comes to screwing in the guard, should I take the bumper off to drill in the light bar?

 

The guard like jeepxj19 has is extremely light one person could pick it up i have the same setup only difference is i have the headlight guards too and there is no difference in weight as without it so do not worry about weight unless you have a heavy bumper made out of like 1/8 inch steel

 

yea its easyest to take the bumper off unless you have really small hands. Some guards mount to the frame instead of the bumper, I can pick mine up without a struggle. Even if u get a bumper its not gonna sag coils, even if it did then u would have a cool prerunner look going lol

 

I'm currently in school on the mobile . What guard is it?

 

Also, is yours to the stock bumper or to the frame?

 

Um I forget who makes it, ill try to find the website and post the link, it mounts to the bumper in 4 spots and has 2 tabs for lights, I can take some detailed pics of it if u want

Well I got a deal on mine so I got it next to nothing, if I wasnt spending mine money on an axle swap id sell u mine, cause I plan on buying a prerunner bumper. Id say look to spend 50-250$ ill try to look to see if I can find a decent one for you
