Didn’t feel like paying retail for a box.
So Ibuilt one instead Now it’s actually functional as a tote or dog bowl 8” sub on tap 5/8” MDF, Dense stuff Good fit gives me the warm&fuzzys After several readings in the hole we get our final box alignment Lots of screws, glue and silicone We’re ready to lay some carpet Braced up with machine thread fasteners so box can be R&R’d, foam tape just the tip of the vibration killing
Iceberg .

Reason: Missing word
Thanks all for the kind input. Wife says I’m obsessed and i say no, just ****. Lol. 8” Sub haven’t measured volume. I may at some point should be adequate.
putt an LC2i downstream of the factory unit. The LOC has low pass output for sub and full range output for multi channel amp.
would like to set up stand alone BT2Phone/device if possible(separate from radio). For now just Bluetooth”d off the deck (cassette) head.
currently have great hi’s and ok mids and jack squat for bass.
Haven’t done much on the stereo project as of late due to an unexpected turn of events. Decided to have myself a nice little backcountry fishing adventure over the 4th and head up to The Rim where it’s much cooler and amazing spots to fish. Mapped out my route packed enough gear and grub for several days. Got up on the back side of Roosevelt lake and figured I’d turn off the pavement at cherry creek due to the fact i had marked out a couple waypoints up there.but unfortunately the large downed conifer laying across the trail about 25 miles in forced me to head back down from where i came in. No biggy i got all the time i need.
This is about the time i ran outta talent. Took my eye off the trail to keep my copilot from goin *** over teakettle out the passenger window, and Bam!! Smacked my axle on a boulder laying in some tall grass.
was running bout 15 mph when i came in contact with said boulder.thought for sure i had ripped out the whole underage after such a solid impact as it was.but in the same moment realized i was still in control of my Jeep.
so i stop and get out to assess the damage. Lower passenger link on axle was all waded up but control arm is still attached. Axle was shoved back 2” from spec and my adjustable threaded shaft on the track bar resembled a banana.so i did what any good Jeeper would do in this sort of situation. I drove it out and kept a heavy eye out for loose rocks and such.when i got back on pavement that’s when it got white knuckle and a bit puckered.
probably should’ve called AAA at that point but being stubborn I decided to limp the poor gal back in to Tucson and lick my wounds in the safety of my garage. So basically drove 330mls to bust up my Jeep, bag my trip and do this all in 108+ weather. Temps spiked once or twice @230 but for the most part it hung around safer numbers but boy she was tired after all that day had to give and so where me and the copilot.
so now were just wanting on a few more parts to show and then we’ll get to work and build it beefier. Actually gave me the opportunity to thrash on it with some parts I’ve had shelved for a bit while i was waiting for the brackets to come in. Got my speed parts on from SFR and glad i did cause the factory mounts had lived out there usefulness as well as that old crinkled up down pipe (you know the one we all self clearance at some point).
and a few other odd and ins. Also at this time i was running ZJ fan clutch but swapped the original back in cause although it pulls more air.it’ll starve you of power.especially when your pulling passes at elevation when its 108 ambient and 224 off the temp sensor. Felt like there where more cons then pros on that setup.just my 2 cents.so here’s some pics and I’ll keep y’all posted
This little amp tray fits nicely under the passenger seat. Had some leftovers from when i did my hood vents years ago.knew id repurpose it someday.

I have never wheeled up in Tucson, but I go there for work. Good looking pics of the work on the sub and amp tray. What is next on your to do list?
Got the LOC&Amps installed over the weekend. Kinda the cherry on top after breaking the Jeep, then thrashing on it for 2 weeks to get her back on the road.
Glamour shots to follow. Sounds pretty decent nice having full range sound
Unfortunately the grill i have is to shallow for this woofer.I’ll come up with something. Bit more wire management left to square away.
