Im going to start going to the pressure washer ones. The ones you basically do by hand but cost like $2

Just to set the record straight on this, the braid on the coax IS used. That's what connects to the part of the mount that gets grounded (The antenna itself is not grounded). Take a look at this diagram on Firestik's website. The 1/2" I.D. ring terminal is what connects to the braid and makes contact with the grounded chassis. The 3/8" I.D. ring terminal is what connects to the core and also to the antenna base/antenna. When the radio is setup properly, the outside braid does not carry any current, so you're correct there, but you really should research this a little bit more as you don't understand what's entirely going on. I recommend the tech section on Firestik's website, it's very informative.
