I need to replace the outer tie rod/drag link (main rod coming from pitman arm to passenger knuckle). I do not have the money for a crossover upgrade. I have already upgraded the inner rod with v8 rod. My question is has anyone ever modified the rod end at passenger knuckle to use a replaceable rod end instead of the end fixed to the rod. Could you cut the rod, thread it, and use a coupler like at the pitman arm end?

 

No I've not done that.. I see no reason it couldn't be done.
