I'm thinking of pulling out the carpet and having bedliner sprayed in its place. Looking for feedback from people that had this done. My jeep is a daily driver, so I'm concerned about heat & road noise.

what I'm in the process of doing is bed lining, putting down a sound deadener and then putting just the carpet back without the pad. Only suggestion is give you is grind the floor to bare metal, use por 15 on it, then bed line it. Por 15 stops and prevents rust, as well as adds a good surface for the liner. I say do it! It won't be very loud if any louder.. It's a jeep anyway.. It's always loud!

From my personal experience prepare to have holes in the floor board you never knew was there and rust but I fixed the wholes with sheet metal and rolled mine In I love it but make sure it's warm outside or it take a few days to dry

herculiner for interior

Just Herculined my interior.

It was on average 38 degrees out and near 100% humidity when I did mine.

I took a wire wheel and ground down all my rust spots. Luckily all my rust holes were pinholes. I sealed them up with some epoxy and primered the floor.

I then Herculined it BUT it took 3-4 days to fully dry.

It wasn't even dry enough to start putting the interior back together until the 3rd day.

It's been just over a week now and I love it.

Can't comment much on heat because it's cold out but I can tell you that you will most definitely get more road noise.

did y'all spray or roll it on? what thickness is it? how much material did it take to do your interior?

Dont use Herculiner, it comes out super rough compared to other liners and is harder to clean. We did my friends bronco with it and it sucked. If you are going to cover it back up with carpet then it is fine to use.

I used Raptor liner in both the inside and outside of my XJ. It comes with a disposable spray gun and is crazy easy to spray on. If you decide to use Raptor liner and have any question PM me.

I didnt put back the carpet cause I like the rugged/basic look. I dont think that it is any louder but it will warm up a bit more over the tranny hump even with my aftermarket tranny cooler.

Here is a picture that kinda shows the floor but not very well. I can send you a better picture tomorrow if I remember if you want.

I used 3/4 of a gallon. Rolled on. Very happy camper so far.

I wanted the rough / textured floor.

To clean it I figure I can just use a brush + water to hose it out.

Can just pop the floor plugs out of the pan to rinse the water / crud out.

Did the rollers y'all used come with the liner you used?

Its a good idea to put a heat barrier over your muffler and cat if you aren't putting carpet back on. My floor actually got hot enough to melt part of a windbreaker while on a long trip, and even on short trips it'll cause any water on my floor to evaporate. I just used some Thermo-Tec adhesive backed heat barrier and it seems to have solved the problem.

That happened to me as well when I first sprayed mine. It ended up being that I had a leaky fuel injector and was running WAY to rich so the Cat was burning the remaining gas in the exhaust and actually glowing red from it. Once I fixed the bad injector, I have never had that problem arise again. The floor there doesn't even get warm now. The only warm spot I get is over the transmission and it is super nice when it is chilly out haha.
