Speakers...
So I have heard that some speakers fit and some don't, depending on depth...Does anyone know any specific speaker models that will? In a 97-01. Or anyone have the depth measurements or know what depth the speakers would need to be? My stock system in the Cherokee Classic is loud but has NO bass at all...also just out of curiosity how much would a new head unit help? Debating on just getting a sub and using the stock speakers for mids and treble...if I can't get door speakers with enough bass and not too complicated. Im at the point where the sound quality combined with the lack of ipod support has brought me to using a $200 wireless speaker...maybe more worth it to just buy one for myself (current one is my dad's) Thanks!

Go to best buy and get the Kicker CS 6.5" for the doors. Just put a pair in mine and they're awesome. I've also got a 10 in the back too though. And yes, a GOOD head unit will make a major difference. Here's a link to those door speakers.

6.5 in speakers with 2 holes straight across from each other mount right up.
6.5 in with 4 mounting holes you have to drill 4 new holes
Most 5.25 speakers mounting points are to close to meet the circle in the door all the way around.
Pioneer tsg1644r mount right in which is what I have cause they were cheap.

So would you say that any 6 1/2 speaker that isn't too deep would fit with no mods or...? And connecting with only 2 screws doesn't introduce vibrations right? Lastly, did you guys use stock speaker grills? Thanks again

I would skip the speakers I said would fit they are only 30 watt rms. I only have them for fill in the sound bar and they were super cheap. Didn't need them for bass I have a sub for that.
I would recommend stuffing polyfill behind the speakers in the roof.
From my research I know the polk db651 pushes the door panel out a little bit.

I have a 99 classic and have run Memphis 6.5 and currently have pioneer 6.5 in there now the fit perfectly just have to drill new holes. They don't push the door panel out but are super close. For the rear tray I still have the Memphis 6.5 just new holes as well. x2 on the better head unit. I just bought a pioneer and my system sounds amazing
