Solid Axle Ind. Diff Covers A++++
@Firehawk
Thanks for the info / mini write-up! I've been so worried about finding a way to strip it that I the parts have just been sitting. Has this held up to the test of time? Obviously it's going to scratch if you band it on rocks, but do you get rock chips from driving on the road?

No chips in it yet.............It's been on there since August......
No need to strip the powder coat......(you would never get it off anyway, unless you sandblasted it)
Just scuff it a little, and clean it really good................Then paint away.
I drilled it, and tapped it for an 1/8" pipe thread plug................I used an 11/32" drill bit, and I have a 1/8" pipe tap.........
YES! True...................I forgot about that.........
I put 3 whole quarts of fluid in mine, and it wasn't anywhere close to the fill hole...................I called it good then...............

Remember also the benefit of a high fill plug. For people that have their pinions raised, the extra oil comes in handy. I have to put my solid cover on my 8.25 this weekend and I. Looking forward to getting rid of the factory rubber plug that leaks due to my pinion angle
