My 1996 factory original (?) radiator has disintegrated and I needed to replace it. I decided to throw a 3 core knock off in there but they need a few mods to make them work.
Here is how it started. Trans cooler just thrown in, not in position. The bottom of the radiator stayed rotted to the lower support. Here are the fittings you will need to get from the inverted flare 5/8-18 to -6an plus a 45* 3/8 barb. Some stock radiators come with the upper port fitting, some dont. If yours does not you will need 2 sets of fittings. I run the aux cooler downstream of the factory cooler. Cut here to clearance the lower barb fitting on the stock trans cooler. Paint the exposed metal. The disconnect can be chopped off and a double 3/8 barb stuffed in there. Throw away the radiator cap that comes on the radiator and get a good one. Extend the lower stock trans cooler to the double barb. Offset the upper rad mounts to push the radiator cap away from the uppet support. This is the clearance needed to be able to take it off when needed. Back together. Cap has the right clearance. Back to looking halfway decent.
