Slider question
I'm going to make some slider/nerf-ish rails soon out of some pipe I have laying around. My question is, do I NEED to have the pice of angle that attaches to that seem on the underbody? I plan on adding it, but only if I have some angle available.

just makes it more durable. if you use them as a step then it will take some strain off the connection points on the unibody. also add to the strength over all.

Ya weither your beating on them with rocks or just using it at a step I would bolt it to the pinch weld seam. You wouldn't want to tweak the unibody frame rails and or have it slam into the rocker!

If you want Functional sliders you want as many attachment and reinforcment points as possible. If they are for looks, just make sure they are not going to fall off at the mall.

Unibody rails are perfect for supporting sliders. If you have stiffeners (your jeep looks big)
Just weld them to that with 4 large supports. That is my 2 cents.

They will be functional as sliders eventually, there just isn't much wheeling to be done in Korea. The tubing is pretty thick, I'm not worried about it crushing, it's round though, and I don't think that it will look very good. The square stock I have is 1.5 or 2" and it is solid steel, and that seems like over kill to me. Plus a lot of extra weight.
