Well with the salt thats mixed in the sand they use on the highways here in upstate NY I have seen truck bumpers completely rotted out. Due to a spinal injury I needed something to get me in the woods for hunting. So my xj is my atv and I am trying to make it as bullit proof as I can.

What salad said.
What type of plate are you looking for?
I did a flat belly and would not mind checking out the options also. Just have not had much luck searching.

Truck bumpers and the factory skids are two different beasts. Ones like 1/16 and the other is 3/16. One the rust sits in the other rust gets on and washes off eventually.
I think the factory skids would do you good enough if you're just using it as a hunting rig
