Show me your hoodvents plz
Would love to see some hood vents on an xj i am tired of how hot my hood gets. You could easily fry a steak on my hood. Just want to see pictures of what you all have if you do have any. I was looking into a 1" spacer for the hood also if anyone has any info on that please share!

As for the spacers. I used 13 washers per bolt to raise the passenger side of my hood. And get longer bolts.

Most people say the don't have issue but ill be honest, im glad you asked rofl. As i typed that, i was thinking about how i undo the spacers for winter lol. And put em back for spring. Was too lazy to type all that though. And never had issues is standing or driving through monsoon style rain storms. What year you driving

Takes about 30mins to undo them. 15 if someone holds the hood for you. Has it helped, id say a lil. Hood isnt boiling afterwards. I only have on passenger side since i have my cowl snorkle on the drivers side.
You don't have any overheating issues right cause this doesn't cure that. Just helps with slowing down the melting of the wires etc

I say get yourself about 13x4 washers(flying dog has impaired my math) and do a quick Google search for the bolt size for the hood. I can't remember since i only touch them about twice a year. Someone May post them after me hopefully. There Will be nay sayers that say "in an accident blah blah hood projectile blah blah" but i haven't seen anything proof of that plus the hood would fold plus ot has the brackets that would aid in that and the latch upfront.
I Will say when you do the hood spacer mod. Make sure you tighten everything back where it was ad slowly close the hood to make sure you have it aligned properly.

I used thick washers to gap the hood, 2 per bolt. Flat-bar with drilled holes would be a better option.
Used longer bolts from another part of the jeep that was modified, forget which part. There are kits on e-bay but they are 1" or so.
This picture is vents from http://www.hoodlouvers.com/ They are expensive.
Forum member Gary Briggs has the best deal on metal vents which are stamped and do not let in rain as much as the LeBaron type.

I have a set of these waiting to go into mine:
Those are Chevy Lumina Z34 vents. As you can see, they come with drip pans. I haven't quite decided how I'm going to mount them, but if possible I'm going to try to leave a gap between the vents and the drip pans for the best air flow.
