Great job on those Camaro vents, Alan. They look great! Similar in size to my vents.

Fred, I'm not so sure I agree with the drip pans. For one thing, drip pans will add extra height to the vents under the hood, which can be a problem if you're running a cowl snorkel across the valve cover or have clearance issues otherwise. I've had my rig in monsoon weather (and it lives outside) and I stuffed every electrical connector I could find with dielectric grease, and haven't had a single problem. Runs great.

Anyway, onto my vents. They are West Marine boat louvers, got them for $20 shipped.

I put window screening on them to prevent leaves and junk from gettting through.

And yes, the hood vents do help a lot, and I'm very happy with them. It's cool to see the heat waves rolling out of them, too!

These are Wrangler air intake vent covers or scoops. Not a great pic I know. The scoop on the right covers the fresh air intake and the one on the left covers a rectangular hole which lets hot air out from under the hood.

These might exist but I have never seen them.. vents that can be closed for daily driving or rainy weather and opened for trail riding..

I found another pic that does a little better job of showing my hood scoops. Still, not great.

I went with the LaBarron vents bacause it gives a factory look to the vehicle which is what I want with this build...

Measured & layed them out

Made a template to use to cut

Measure twice cut once..

Placed some door trim insulation around the edges

I used some aluminum angle from Lowes for the underside mounting, I like the idea of full length compare to just a bracket under each bolt.

Installed
