On my XJ, I want to get a 3" lift and 31x10.5x15 tires.

My plan for wheels is 15x8 steelies.

My problem is, I don't want the tires to stick out past the flares TOO much, but I still want them to. Would I want 3.75BS or 4.75?

Could you guys show me your jeep that has 31x10.5 tires and 15x8 wheels with either 3.75 or 4.75BS? Please clarify what you have.

You will want 3.75 to ensure no rubbage and have plenty of clearance.

Ok so here it is 31x10.5x15 BFG K02 on Method 307 wheels 15x8 w/-24 offset I believe that's 3.5 backspacing A little rubbing on the front and also on the rear at full stuff. This is at 3 1/2" of lift

You're welcome. Here is another picture @ 41/4" lift and I trimmed the front fender / flair. Also removed the lower valance. More of a artsy fartsy photo but you get the idea.

I think that the link is a good resource. I used it when buying wheels and tires. It's just lacking info on the BS on most setups. You'll see a setup that looks good but doesn't have all the info you want or the pictures aren't at the right angles. Actually I took these photos to show how the BS and tire size looked when I put them on.
