Default Shock Recommendations for a 4.5" Rubicon Express Super Flex Lift?

Hi All -

I'm debating on what lift to put on my 01 Cherokee Sport, either a:

3.5" Rubicon Express Lift Kit (Super Ride) with Rear Leaf Springs

or

4.5" Rubicon Express Lift Kit (Super Flex) with Rear Leaf Springs

Either kit doesn't come with Shocks. I've heard OME shocks are pretty much the best shocks you can get, but their site doesn't show shocks for a 3-5" lift ranges. What shocks should are the best shocks for that size lift that will be used for 80-90% DD and 10-20 % off roading (no rock crawling - just trail riding). Money for the most part is not a factor (within reason).

Thanks for the advice!

You can get either kit with shocks as part of the package.
Twin tubes will do in a pinch...but the monotubes are superior in ride quality and lifespan.

1f you want a better shock, order the Bilstein 4-Shock package.

I'm partial to the 4.5" kit, it's a little easier to make the jump to Long Arms from there....and you will get L/A/s at some point.

It depends on how much money you want to spend- The King Evos are AMAZING but have a 2000$ price tag. (My father won a set of brand new ones on Ebay for 400 lol) Check out the link in my signature for some more lift ideas- Serious sells a 4.5 that includes everything you need (Bilsteins, long arms, SYE, Driveshaft etc)

Thanks for the feedback guys. I signed up for an account at Serious the other day, purchased a Smittybilt Bumper and Bull Bar for my jeep from him, very happy that it shipped the same day I ordered it! I'm planning on buying some Fender Flares from Serious - just tryin to decide if I want flat flares or the typical bushwacker 5" flares. I've been trying to buy all Made in America parts, the smittybilt bumper is an import I know - but the closest comparable Made in America bumper was about twice the price or more so I caved on that, oh well! Do you know if the Zone Shocks are good, I just came accross their 4.5" lift kit and I thought that might be a good kit for the money because I can get the same lift height and all the parts needed for about $1100.00 which is the same price as the RE lift WITHOUT shocks.

Thanks!

Generally all white-body shocks are the same- (skyjacker/zone/ RC etc etc) In my opinion, the Bilsteins are worth the price. A lot of people here like Zone. Some say it rides a little rough but overall not to bad for the price. Long arms are going to impact your ride and performance more than shock choice will

Go ahead and get the Bilstein 4 shock deal from Serious. You'll thank yourself later. I bought a "kit" from Rusty's before I did any research (was new to the XJ). I have since replaced almost all of the components except for the coils.
I have the Serious LA's and the Bilstein 5100's now, it's a world of difference. I can't say enough good things about Frank's customer service, one of the best in the business and he knows what he's taking about.
