~3.5” lift
Rear - OME springs/shocks
Front - RC springs (from PO) / OME shocks
31” Duratracs
Bumpers/Skid Plates/Armor/etc.

My ride has been deteriorating over the last 5k miles or so. Feeling very floaty, tires feel like they are bouncing excessively over bumps, and hitting the bump stops over speed bumps.

So, I’m thinking new shocks. These have about 60k on them, which seems a little low to me. Anyway, I can’t remember how the ride was when the shocks were new, but it’s pretty bad now.

Front end parts are tight, from sway bar in tact, rear sway bar removed before I replaced shocks before.

Do you think I’d be disappointed if I switch to Bilstein shocks? Are they way stiffer or just a little? I’d be ok with a little stiffer I think.

I havent been super impressed with bilstien shocks but im sure they're better than shocks that have been stroking for 60k.. to me that's a **** ton of miles to put on shocks.

The oil has deteriated seals bushiings valves way worn out.

 

Thanks man, I will replace ASAP and just stay with the OME so I know what to expect.

Is it 30-40k average life for shocks?

 

Yeah 30k might be alright.

Whats so great about ome shocks?

 

Well I got over 50k on them before i noticed they were getting bad.

I also believe you get what you pay for (most of the time) with any product. That being said, I'm sure there are probably cheaper shocks that would be pretty much same quality, IDK.

 

I doubt cheaper.
i see all kinds of rigs on the road everyday running with bad shocks. Most dont know theyre shocks need replaced.
