So I am on a tight budget and I need to be inspected in a little less than a month and I need shocks. I have a 4.5" lift so does anybody know if any other vehicles have shocks that are big enough to work on that lift? I'm thinking of going to the salvage yard this weekend to get some parts and I might get shocks if I can find some cheap enough

If you manage to find shocks that are the right length they are very likely going to be valved for a v8 truck, and will be extremely stiff.

"JK Rubicon shocks are the same length as the shocks supplied with most 3" to 4" lifts"
This refers to the red factory JK shocks only. They will still ride a bit rough, just a heads up.

If you add bar pin eliminators it may get you to the right extended length.
You can use the XJ rear sway bar mounts as front / rear bar pin eliminators.
You will need 4 rear sway bar mounts (2 sets). They should be cheap at the junkyard.
