I had been asked from a previous thread to check my shackle angle due to my large lift gained from RE 2.5" Full Length AAL installed over a year ago. I have attached the pictures of the shackle angle. It seems it is almost straight up and down but has a slight angle towards the rear of the jeep which at least is in the right direction...after some more research it seems others have in fact gained closer to 3.5-4.25" of lift after installing these AALs. My question is can I fix this or what are any negatives of leaving this setup like this? Harsh ride does not bother me much. Just safety of the install.

 

There is nothing inherently unsafe about a vertical shackle angle. It will be more harsh and you will not have as much flex if you do the offroading thing. The only way to fix it is with shackle relocation brackets, which allow you to move the upper mount forward, and thus gain the proper ~45 degree shackle angle.

 

Ok thanks. I will eventually address it. The jeep isnt my DD and I am just starting to get involved with off roading and snow wheeling. As long as it is safe haha.
