Sensor Question
I just found out today that I am having a starting problem. The check engine light came on and I pulled a code for intermittent camshaft/crankshaft position sensor fault. I bought my Xj with a 4.7 stroker already in it that the previous owner built. My Xj is a 2000. Will a regular replacement sensor work or do I need to get a sensor for the engine the crank came out of. From what I have read the stroker cranks for these engines are just crankshafts from and older model AMC inline 6 engines.

Just FYI - lots of folks have issues with non-Mopar crank sensors - the cheap ones just do not seem to last.
Get an OEM mopar sensor if you can afford the extra $40 or whatever it works out to. I managed to get one on Ebay for $50 bucks which was a steal - so check around till you find the best price

Yep, All the after market sensors are junk. Buy an OEM from Chrysler. You will wind up spending the money anyway but you will have three times the work. The aftermarket sensors are garbage and that goes for the water pumps also. I bought a water pump from Advance. It lasted one year. I bought one from AutoZone, same story. I bought one from Chrysler and it's been in for 3 yrs now.
