Default seat swap

i was wondering if i take the seats and reverse them ( the drivers to passneger side and vise versa) would it even be possible to do i want to do this for 2 reasons i dont have the money for new ones and there both half good

Only way to find out is to take them out and see if the brackets will bolt up to the other seat.

You'll have to swap over the rails, floor mounts, and seat belts, but it should work.

why do you have to swap over the seat belts? they are not part of the seat on a 96 and older xj. I believe you should be able to unbolt the seat pan from the rails and swap it over. if you want to move the back rest part then you will end up with the seat adjuster on the wrong side of the seat and would probably hit the center console.

Thought the belts were attached to the rails. I may be wrong.
