I had rc springs and I have a aal no problem with the aal its an aal. I really hated the coils. They were about 2" shorter than my friends 3.5" re coils so I figure it's really a 2" lift kit. Then my dads leafs he got the bushings were paper thin and squished out. I would have to say if you need a shackle, or relocation brackets there fine but nothing with a bushing or lift parts unless its a block or spacer.
Oh and I also blew 2 shocks

RC makes a decent low dollar kit period, customer care is great if money not really an object id buy RE but the same guys are always jumping on the RC sucks bandwagon.
Same two guys on this thread say same thing all the time"RC sucks" you guys need to really grow up and give some accurate first hand experience, say i dont like it cause.........etc. the ride is stiffer with RC thats true.

no one said RC WASNT a good kit for the money. just that in a decision between RE and RC it should be no contest if money isnt a factor.
it's not inaccurate to state that I have read horrible reviews time and time again about RC products. anyone can get RC if they want it. I'm just trying to raise awareness

I think they do sit higher actually when first installed but do settle down to the advertised height.
I dont know how serious you will be about wheeling but 5.5 LA is a pretty big kit to start out with. here's the cheapest place I've found RE kits. this is the one I'll be running as soon as I can find time to install it.
best part about it is you can probably sell the control arms for $200 or so later on when you're ready to go LA. check it out

I went with an RC 4.5 in kit. It was 680 to my door. Then I bought an RK double shear for $225 (which you don't need if you relocate your trackbar) and crown ss extend brakelines for $80 (which you also don't need if you relocate the brakelines). The total cost was about $1000. So you could get the RE kit with everything (except double shear) for $1049. I also didn't get quick discos for the sway bar (which is going away anyway).
The RC leaves were short, but after I started adding metal in the form of sliders and a rear tire carrier, they set the shackle angle right.
The RC rides rough as **** (which is actually what really sold me on it, seriously) but now it is smoother, again, after the addition of metal products.
My bushings have not **** the bed yet, but I did liberally apply grease to them when installing. I've had the lift for almost a year now and I have quite a few wheeling trips on it.
If I could do it again, I'd just piece together the lift personally. I have no qualms with RC shocks, seems like they were valved for a heavier vehicle and mine is now a heavier vehicle.

Ride quality - RE, especially if you pop for good shocks too.
Price - RC
Lift height - RE kits are notorius for lifting higher than advertised, I have also heard complaints about RC kits sagging. Sagging is exponetially worse if you choose the RC kit with lift blocks because you are using your old springs.
I dont have the best shocks on my RE kit, but it rides night and day difference to my buddies xj with a RC lift. With a set of Bilsteins, I wouldnt be scared to say RE kits ride as good or better than stock.
It comes down to your budget and what you want to accomplish with the lift.

IRO AND SeriousOffroad make quality LA kits (and LA upgrade kits) and are lightyears ahead of the RC LA. You will find a 50/50 mix about people running RE LA's, and I think the more serious offroad guys use other brands besides RE and RC. The guys that DD their rigs seem to be the ones who like the RE long arms.

I dont think a lot of people refer to IRO as a 'quality' LA^^
it's like a wristed or y-link long radius arm setup. and apparently very weak (say some) but then again I've never heard of anyone breaking IRO stuff...
people love flaming IRO on here
