Roof rack help
Not sure if I'm in the right place move me if I'm not please
I got a roof rack and want to mount it
I was looking at the top of my jeep and the rails that the rAck mounts too are ripped out (like some one had one and hit something and it tore it off I think) so I was planning on just drilling holes and using bolts bt not sure if that's the best thing to do
Also the rack has lights and wire the need to inter the cab so I was gonna drill a hole and run wires then use silicone to seal all holes
My question is what about self tapping screws would that be a better way to do it

Really? Simple searches yield results....
What kind of rack is it? Do they make gutter mounts for your rack already? If not, do you have the skills to weld aftermarket ones on, or know someone who can? What does your roof mount up top look like? Completely hosed or can you get replacements from a pick and pull? Way too many questions to be answered here without more info. Pics might help.

I used the "Olympic" mount for my custom made basket a drip rail mount that fits over the factory rails. Really a nice setup but the big drawback is the $$$ for it, if I had to do it over I would do it the same way again though.
