i wouldnt recommend it, but you could do it, it would definitely look nice and clean, just make sure you fill the wholes with a lot of rtv or similar waterproof stuff, but if you dont wanna do that you can run it down into the gutters and into the drivers door through that strip of weatherstripping on the a pillar and under the dash to wherever your switch will be, it takes a lot more wire but its easier and you dont have to worry about leaks

Through the roof, down the A-pillar, a rubber grommet and lots of silicone made for sealing aquariums. Thats how I did mine, almost a year now without any leaks.

You need a sealed feedthrough... easily found on Google. Sometimes they're called bulkhead feedthrough, sealed feedthrough, cable feedthrough... you get the idea. Sometimes they're as simple as a threaded stud with a plastic surround.
If you want to quick-release the lights, use an Andersen PowerPole connector. They're rugged, easily connected/disconnected and have weather-resistant caps so you can cap 'em off when your gear is disconnected. I used the high current models when installing the winch on my dad's 4Runner and they're awesome (also double as external jump-starting terminals).

i just ran the wires in wire loom till i got to the drivers door, then drilled a hole in the interior door trim and ran the wires through that.

Here are a few pics of mine. I went through the roof. I used connections so I can take off the roof rack with the lights and not have to cut any wires.

Will do. It's only 11 freakin degrees here with a wind chill of -5 freakin degrees. I ain't used to this living in Texas my whole life. I'll probably get cabin fever here in a bit and need to get out of the house. I'll get ya some pictures when that happens.

That's cold man. What's crazy is on Sunday it was in the low 70's here. Then two day's later we are getting 5 inches of sleet and snow high's in the teens with wind chills in the negative's. Texas weather is crazy!!

Texas weather is bi-polar. I been driving back and forth to work the last 2 days, along with stops here and there to pull people out of ditches/up hills on the ice. It's crazy here!

This what I ended up doing.
Well I used a factory grommet (not sure what it was originally for but it worked awesome) with lots of RTV and I added a 4 prong trailer connector so i can take the rack off without taking out the wiring or cutting it. thanks for everyone that helped.
