Rocker panel fab work
So I just recently bought my first xj( 93 4door 4.0 ho) it's a pretty clean rig with minimal rust in the typical jeep spots. I've seen a few videos where people replace there rocker panels with 2x6 or 2x8 tubing. Now I like the look of it but I also like the look of the stock pannels. It's a daily driver and I don't plan on doing any rock bouncing in it any time soon. So I guess the question is is it worth replacing the stock pannels or to just put in the tubing. I'd really like to know what you guys run and how they were set up. I know it more personal preference but I'd just like to hear from the experts. I'll try and get some pics up soon.
Ps. This is my first post here so take it easy on me.

I went 2x8x3/16 i cut out good rust free rockers. Good spot to stand to get to a roof rack, shopping cart protection door dings, fender benders. I dont think you have to be a hardcore rock grinder to see benefits from rocker up grades
Kinda scarey cutting out rocker but is a perfect fit
Doing rockers has been one of my best mods. Ive found im constantly draging them in dirt or on a rock or tree im no hard core rock crawler either just a mild trail runner that drive around most hard stuff because theres 20 hard miles of trail left to get back home.

If the floors and rockers are rust free then the 2x6 is the best option. Easier to cut and weld in without fighting rust. I had to replace the floor pans, rockers and quarter panel to fight off the rust, it sucked but done now. One of the best mods you can do.

I was very torn between 2x6 or 2x8 after doing 2x8 I'd do it again. It creates a good bumper to protect the hole side better.
mines just welded in. I plan to eventually weld frame stiffness on and kinda mini boat side it.
