An MSD coil will help with a modified fuel system and exhaust system.

It won't do a heckuva lot by itself. The stock ignition system is matched to the stock fuel system.

It's all balance.

I hear they are not that durable, especially compared to a Mopar or NGK ignition coil

The stock coil is plenty. I have a 4.6 stroker with 26# injectors and Gibson header, and the stock coil has no problems keeping up. Save your money towards real HP upgrades.

Performance coils start to shine when you're talking about high revs.

My friend and I used to build hotrods from GM cars, and we'd custom curve the HEI ignition and install a performance coil.

You could start telling a difference above about 4,000 rpm.

Josh
